Warping happens when parts of the print cool and contract at different rates, pulling corners upward away from the build plate. Severe warping can cause the entire print to detach mid-print.
Insufficient bed adhesion — surface not clean or not suitable for material
Bed temperature too low for the material
Cooling fan too aggressive on first layers
No enclosure for high-shrinkage materials (ABS, ASA, Nylon)
Large flat parts with thin walls — maximum shrinkage stress
Ambient temperature too cold / drafts near printer
Clean the bed with IPA (isopropyl alcohol) before every print
Apply a fresh layer of PVA glue stick, hairspray, or dedicated adhesive
Increase bed temperature: PLA 60-65°C, PETG 70-85°C, ABS 100-110°C
Disable part cooling fan for first 3-5 layers
Add a brim (5-10mm wide) to increase first layer adhesion surface area
Enclose the printer to maintain ambient temperature for ABS/ASA
Reduce part cooling fan speed overall for large flat parts
Print at lower speed for first layers to improve adhesion
Bed Temperature
5-10°C above current
Fan Speed (first layers)
0% for first 3 layers
Brim Width
5-10mm
First Layer Speed
20-30mm/s
